This is the FIRST solo show for the local painter Carlos Ramos (he's also a stand-up comedian!), and he has gone all out with a series of 24 massive paintings. Plus, an installation that's got the gallery looking like a little jungle. Check it OUT!

It's a little bit weird that if you want to see this video installation you gotta call up for an appt. Hmmm, well, not that weird, but sometimes we're lazy, so guess what, if you don't have time to make a cita ni con tu dentista, then good news! You can actually see this exhibit online (click on the picture or name) and you will be able to check out the work by Denis Darzacq, Pascual SIsto, Fernando Sanchez, SE Barnet,Tait and Connie Samaras from home. But for real, please, after seeing that chair get thrown around, get out a little.

Maybe the best band to listen to if you need to lift those spirits, cos they can't help but have your body moving within seconds. Maybe it's the horn section? What band doesn't need one? Opening up is the reggae partay band Quinto Sol... not too shabby.
	Sunday, Jun 29 Devendra Banhart & Gilberto Gil @ Hollywood Bowl 2301 North Highland Ave.; Hollywood $10-$123. 7pm. This legendary Brazilian Grammy and Latin Grammy award-winning singer-songwriter (and Brazil's current Minister of Culture!) has still got great tropicalia and acoustic tunes to make for a great evening chilling on the lawn. While, Venezuelan born-Texas raised Devendra Banhart brings on some 60s rock tinged with Caetano Veloso-esque momentos. We like.

	Wednesday, Jun 25 & Sunday, Jun 29 Like Everybody Else @ Majestic Crest Theatre 1262 Westwood Blvd.; Westwood $12. Wed: 9:45pm. Sun: 4:30pm. A twelve-minute short by Franco Lolli featuring music by El Binomio de Oro y el Grupo Niche, about a mothes struggling to make money and an obnoxious teenage son who's sole desire is to be flashy and maintain a certain appearance in front of his rich friends.
	Sunday Jun, 22 & Thursday, Jun 26 Mirageman Various Locations $12. Time varies. A regular guy ends up as the superhero Mirageman, after he stops a home invasion on his way from work one day in this Chilean film directed by Ernesto Díaz Espinosa. (Sunday @ 9:45pm, The Regent.
